Description
Aloe vera and slippery elm in a fermented soya base. Your Flora Terrain contains three organic ingredients and is vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. The glass jar contains 60 capsules.
Aloe vera and slippery elm form a distinctive combination in Living Nutrition Your Flora Terrain. They are processed together with an organic soya base into a fermented powder. The capsule makes these three ingredients easy to take.
Prefer taking herbs with water rather than in a drink? The capsules give you a fixed portion without mixing juice and do not need refrigeration.

Aloe vera: more than a familiar houseplant
Aloe vera is recognisable by its thick, pointed leaves. These leaves contain different types of plant compounds. You will find the plant in skincare products, drinks and supplements.
For Terrain, the leaf is processed into a dry powder. You take it as a capsule, together with slippery elm and the fermented soya base.
Slippery elm and its distinctive texture
Slippery elm is a tree from North America. The bark naturally contains mucilage. The name may sound unusual, but it refers to plant compounds that can form a slippery mixture with water.
This property explains why the bark is traditionally used as a soothing herb. It also makes slippery elm different from many aromatic leafy herbs. In Terrain, the bark is combined with aloe vera and the fermented soya base.
The fermented base of Your Flora
The soya base is called Kefi-soya and is made from sprouted organic soya beans. During preparation, bacteria and yeasts convert substances in the ingredients. Living Nutrition uses cultures from water kefir and kombucha for this.
Fermentation is a familiar way to prepare food, as with tempeh. For Terrain, this is followed by a low-temperature drying stage: freeze-drying. The mixture is frozen and its moisture is removed.
This produces a dry powder with the fermented base and both herbs, which is divided among the capsules.
Which ingredients are in it?
The three main ingredients are organic. The shell is made from plant cellulose. No fillers have been added to fill the capsules further.
| Ingredient | Per capsule | With 3 capsules |
|---|---|---|
| Fermented soya (Glycine max) | 133 mg | 399 mg |
| Aloe vera leaf (Aloe barbadensis) | 133 mg | 399 mg |
| Slippery elm bark (Ulmus rubra) | 133 mg | 399 mg |
| Total | 399 mg | 1,197 mg |
Contains soya. The formula is suitable for vegans and contains no wheat, gluten or dairy. A plant-based product can therefore still contain an allergen.
How do you take Terrain?
For adults, take one to three capsules per day with a large glass of water. This can be with or without food. You can choose a meal as a regular time to make it easy to remember.
A jar lasts 20 to 60 days. At the current product price, this means you pay £0.47 - £1.40 per day.
Store the jar in a cool, dry place and close it tightly after use. Keep it away from steam and moisture. Check the best-before date on your own pack.
When do you choose Terrain?
Choose Terrain if you are specifically looking for aloe vera and slippery elm in a fermented formula. Other Your Flora variants contain different plants: Sensitive combines peppermint and lemon balm, for example.
See our other food supplements too if you want to compare different herbs.
Living Nutrition makes its fermented products in the United Kingdom. The brand was founded in 2014 by nutritional therapist Graham Botfield. Organic ingredients and small production batches form the basis of its approach.
Good to know when using it
Do not use Terrain if you have a soya allergy, during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The product is intended for adults.
Aloe taken internally can cause abdominal pain or diarrhoea. Stop using it if you experience these symptoms. Do not use Terrain as self-treatment for persistent bowel symptoms.
Do not take more than the recommended daily amount. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep the jar out of reach of young children.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do if I miss a dose?
Continue at your usual time. Do not take extra capsules to make up for the missed dose.
What does slippery elm mean?
Slippery elm is a tree from North America. Terrain uses the bark. The name refers to the slippery texture the plant compounds can form with water.
Are these capsules filled with aloe vera juice?
No, Terrain contains dry powder made from fermented soya, aloe vera leaf and elm bark. It is not a liquid juice or skin gel.
Can I open the capsules?
Yes, stir the powder into a small amount of cold food or drink. This leaves less powder behind in the bowl. Do not use a hot meal or drink.
Is the soya base milk-free?
Yes, the product is dairy-free and entirely plant-based. It does contain soya and is therefore not suitable for someone with a soya allergy.
Does Terrain need refrigeration?
