The difference between Isolate CBD and Full Spectrum CBD

What do these differences mean?

Knowing the difference between isolate and full spectrum CBD is essential for making an educated decision about your options. In this article, we will cover the key differences between CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD oil.

CBD is one of 104 chemical compounds, known as cannabinoids, that can be found in the cannabis plant. It’s a naturally occurring substance in the cannabis plant. Research suggests that cannabinoids can help regulate multiple different bodily functions and neurological processes.

CBD isolate

Put simply; CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD. As their name suggests, CBD isolates contain no additives besides CBD molecules. The Endoca Crystals, for example, are a form of CBD isolate. CBD isolate is usually extracted from industrial hemp, a version of the cannabis plant that is low in THC.

Here’s what you should know about the various CBD isolate extraction methods most commonly used by manufacturers. To begin with, CBD isolate is extracted from industrial hemp using a solvent. During this process, various compounds – including fatty acids, and other plant material – are dissolved. After filtration, this method yields a CBD isolate that contains at least 98.0 % CBD by weight. CBD isolate is typically available in two different forms: crystals and powder.

CBD isolate is easy to measure and use. Some of the most common methods of consuming CBD isolate are:

  • Food → CBD crystals or CBD powder can be added to all kinds of food
  • Vaping → The CBD crystals or CBD powder can be steeped into e-liquids.
  • Dabbing → The CBD crystals or CBD powder can be “dabbed”. Dabbing is when you inhale a cloud of the smoke/vapor made by melting the concentrate.
  • Adding the CBD crystals to a carrier oil → The CBD crystals or CBD powder can be mixed with your carrier oil of choice. Usually, CBD oil is taken sublingually by holding a few drops of it beneath your tongue.
  • Blending into skin care products → The CBD crystals or CBD powder can even be infused into your favourite skin care products – and as we all know, maintaining a healthy, daily skin care regimen will keep your skin looking lush and beautiful!

Because of its many uses and applications, CBD isolate might be the perfect answer to your needs.

Full Spectrum

Full Spectrum CBD oil, unlike CBD isolate products, includes a wide range of cannabinoids. In fact, it tends to be packed with CBG, CBC, CBN, and CBGA! There are some instances where full spectrum CBD products may contain the slightest traces of THC. The THC content in full-spectrum CBD products must be below the legal 0.05% mandate.

So, where does that leave full-spectrum CBD? In contrast to isolates, full-spectrum CBD products contain all of the compounds found in cannabis, and it is therefore believed that these products have greater therapeutic potential. These compounds interact synergistically to create what is commonly referred to as the “entourage effect”.

In addition to the different cannabinoids mentioned above, cannabis also contains various other substances such as terpenes, vitamins, chlorophyll and flavonoids. Each of these compounds has its own distinct properties.
